Pink Grapefruit Ginger Smoothie

Updated: May 9, 2021

Plant antioxidants are a great source of ‘anti-inflammatory’ or ‘antioxidant’ properties, such as substances like ascorbic acid and tocopherols, polyphenolic compounds, or terpenoids. For example Limonene, which is a monoterpene present in many citrus extracts has been shown to reduce cancer in many lab tests. So, we thought we would make something that tastes great and has healing properties.
Pink Grapefruit isn’t everyone’s favourite, it can be pretty bitter, but, when you mix it with banana and a non-dairy-milk, the grapefruit is transformed!
Throw in a little maca powder for extra magnesium, iron and zinc and you’ve got yourself a powerhouse of a smoothie.
Who says edibles have to give you diabetes.
